Colin Jost<\/a> is sharing wife Scarlett Johansson<\/a>\u2018s exact reaction to him buying the retired Staten Island Ferry<\/a> with Pete Davidson. <\/p>\n While appearing on the upcoming May 4th episode of the Smartless podcast<\/a>, the 43-year-old SNL actor and comedian revealed his wife\u2019s text after he told her about the purchase.<\/p>\n Colin shared that he first texted his dad. <\/p>\n \u201cHe literally was like, \u2018Did you do your homework?\u2019 Which is such a teacher thing to say,\u201d the Weekend Update co-anchor said. \u201cI was like, \u2018Dad, I\u2019m just sort of texting you as a formality. I already bought the boat.’\u201d<\/p>\n His second text was to Scarlett. <\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Guess what? We own a ferry now,’\u201d Colin recalled of what he texted her. \u201cAnd she was like, \u2018We?’\u201d<\/p>\n On the podcast, Colin reiterated that he thought about the purchase \u201cin a real estate way.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cIf you put that on a dock in Manhattan, you\u2019ve suddenly got basically a building on the waterfront,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n He also pushed back on talk of it being a \u201cmoney pit.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very misreported that it is some sort of crazy money pit,\u201d he said, noting they\u2019ve hosted events and recouped much of what they paid. <\/p>\n What\u2019s next for the ferry? <\/p>\n \u201cA home run for me is its a thing that could be used for an event space but also has an every-day purpose,\u201d Colin shared. \u201cTwo versions of it to me are, it could be an operating entertainment club, a place where you can go and have parties or there\u2019s regular parties on it. And then\u2026 I could imagine creating a place like a [swim club] that\u2019s not like a weird, fancy member\u2019s club, but is actually more middle-class, Manhattan swim club.\u201d<\/p>\n If you missed, last week Scarlett was seen filming her upcoming new Exorcist movie<\/a>, while Colin is soon set to return as host for Pop Culture Jeopardy! on Netflix.
