Several local outlets have reported Carolina was going to get her mother-in-law a drink of water at the time.<\/p>\n
Herrera is then seen following her before several gunshots ring out.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s husband, Alejandro, walks into the frame just seconds later, carrying the couple\u2019s baby.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat was that?\u201d he asks his mother in Spanish.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat did you do, crazy?\u201d an unidentified person\u2019s voice is heard saying.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing,\u201d his mum answers. \u201cShe made me angry.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong with you? She\u2019s my family,\u201d Alejandro says, calmly.<\/p>\n
His mum replies: \u201cYou\u2019re mine and she stole you\u201d.<\/p>\n
Spanish media outlet Debate spoke to a close friend of Carolina, who said the victim had been hounded by her mother-in-law when she fell pregnant.<\/p>\n
The friend said Carolina believed that Herrera \u201cnever liked her\u201d and that she had \u201cgotten worse\u201d since the pregnancy.<\/p>\n
It has also been suggested that a multimillion-pound inheritance could be behind the killing.<\/p>\n
Carolina is believed to have received a large sum of money following the death of her father.<\/p>\n
The high-profile killing has left the Mexican community reeling, sparking a wave of protests in\u00a0Mexico<\/a>\u2018s Baja California over the weekend.<\/p>\nCarolina was born in San Diego, was crowned Miss Teen Universe for Baja California in 2017, and picked up several local titles in her home city of Ensenada.<\/p>\n
