That\u2019s when the Friends of Maple Grove will host one of their most popular and intriguing events, Spirits Alive.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Past is Waiting to Meet You,\u201d reads the kicker above the headline on the Friends\u2019 Spirits Alive flier, which then promises, \u201cHistory Steps Out of the Shadows! Discover new stories and unforgettable characters waiting among the paths of Maple Grove.\u201d Spooky but educational.<\/p>\n
The event, a self-guided educational tour offered from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., features actors in period costume portraying various people buried at Maple Grove, \u201csharing dramatic stories drawn from the lives of those who shaped our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Spirits Alive is free, though donations are accepted. Parking is free, and the pedestrian entrance to the necropolis is at Kew Gardens Road and Lefferts Boulevard.
