CLAREMONT, The Bronx (WABC) — Police are searching for a male suspect who randomly assaulted a 9-year-old boy in the Bronx, earlier this month.<\/p>\n

The victim was inside Grant Park in the Claremont section around 6 p.m. on April 17, when he was approached by an unidentified male who punched him numerous times in the face and struck him with a cable charger.<\/p>\n

The suspect fled the location on foot northbound on Sheridan Avenue.<\/p>\n

The child suffered a laceration to the face and was taken to BronxCare Health System in stable condition. He is expected to survive his injuries.<\/p>\n

Police say the suspect and victim are not known to each other.<\/p>\n

They released an image of the person they are looking for in hopes it will lead to an arrest.<\/p>\n
