Multiple officers were injured after an explosion led to a house fire in Queens.<\/p>\n
Police say that the officers responded to a 911 call for a domestic dispute inside the home on 130th Street in South Ozone Park just before 3 a.m. The call was made by a resident who said a family member, 50-year-old Anroop Parasram, arrived at the resident while intoxicated. They also smelled gas.<\/p>\n
Parasram went into the basement where his wife, daughter and two grand children lived. Video in the area shows Parasram with a garbage bag filled with canisters and an unknown substance. He forced his way into the home by pushing an air conditioner unit with a knife and threatened his wife. When officers arrived, she gave them the keys to the home when the explosion occurred <\/p>\n
According to FDNY, they responded to a call of a house fire around 3 a.m. The fire also spread to the house next door. <\/p>\n
Eight police officers had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital and while 16 people are displaced.
