NEW YORK (WABC) — The Empire State Building celebrates its 95th anniversary on Friday, May 1.<\/p>\n

To mark the occasion the building will have special events, new visitor experiences, and a colorful tower lighting display. Eyewitness News Meteorologist Dani Beckstrom was on hand to feature the celebrations.<\/p>\n

“The Empire State Building celebrates its 95th anniversary, still the ‘World’s Most Famous Building,’ a modernized, sustainability leader as technologically advanced today as the day she was completed,” said Anthony E. Malkin, chairman and CEO of Empire State Realty Trust.<\/p>\n

As part of the celebration, the Empire State Building Observation Deck is offering limited-time experiences, including a special Ghirardelli Kong Sundae available through the end of May on the 86th Floor.<\/p>\n

The building is also introducing a new birthday party package that includes guided observation deck visits, private space, treats and themed extras, with optional upgrades such as access to the 102nd Floor.<\/p>\n

On May 1, the building’s world-famous tower lights will shine in a multi-color sparkle to mark the milestone, visible across the city and streamed worldwide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Completed in just 410 days, the Empire State Building remains one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world.<\/p>\n

A recent $165 million renovation transformed the observation deck experience with new entrances, galleries, exhibits and floor-to-ceiling views.<\/p>\n

The building has also emerged as a leader in sustainability, achieving LEED v5 Platinum certification and setting a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2030.<\/p>\n

“For nearly a century, the Empire State Building has been a must-visit destination,” said Dan Rogoski, general manager of the Empire State Building Observation Deck. “Today’s guests experience a completely reimagined Observation Deck that continues to set the standard.”<\/p>\n
