QUEENS, NY \u2014 A body was found in the rubble of a Queens home after an explosion injured several police officers who were responding to an alleged domestic dispute. <\/p>\n
The discovery of the body came a day after the explosion at 107-55 130th Street.<\/p>\n
The suspect, identified as Anroop Parasram, 50, remains unaccounted for and the body has not been identified yet. <\/p>\n
According to police, Parasram forced his way into the home and dumped plastic bags filled with canisters. <\/p>\n
A family member called 911 and told police that the man arrived to the home intoxicated and was armed with a knife. <\/p>\n
There was also the smell of gas in the home. <\/p>\n
Parasram’s daughter and his two grandchildren managed to escape the home shortly after. <\/p>\n
The 50-year-old threatened his wife with the knife before she was also able to escape to safety. <\/p>\n
Parasram’s wife then gave police the key to the home. <\/p>\n
As police attempted to enter the home, an explosion caused multiple officers to be thrown off their feet, with some being launched into gates at the front of the residence. <\/p>\n
Eight police officers were injured and treated for burns. One officer needed stitches for a laceration to his head.<\/p>\n
Five other individuals suffered injuries. <\/p>\n
Sixteen people were displaced after the incident and the Red Cross is offering support. <\/p>\n
