Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is in critical but stable condition in the hospital, his spokesperson said Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cMayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he\u2019s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,\u201d spokesperson Ted Goodman said in a statement on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n The statement does not say why the 81-year-old is in the hospital.<\/p>\n Giuliani told viewers Friday on his X show \u201cAmerica\u2019s Mayor Live<\/a>\u201d that his \u201cvoice is a little under the weather, so I won\u2019t be able to speak as loudly as I usually do.\u201d He\u2019s seen coughing a few times on the streamed program.<\/p>\n The most recent episode of \u201cThe Rudy Giuliani Show,\u201d streamed on LindellTV, is from Wednesday. Giuliani missed several episodes in April but worked Monday through Friday as recently as March.<\/p>\n Former New York Mayor Eric Adams, who left office last year, wished Giuliani \u201cstrength, good health, and a full recovery,\u201d his spokesperson Todd Shapiro said in a statement on his behalf, adding the \u201cmoment rises above politics.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFrom his years as a federal prosecutor to leading New York City through its darkest day on 9\/11, he stood with this city when it needed him most,\u201d the statement said. \u201cPublic service at that level demands sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the people you serve.\u201d<\/p>\n President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that Giuliani is a \u201cTrue Warrior and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhat a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL \u2014 AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!\u201d Trump said in the post about Giuliani being hospitalized.<\/p>\n Giuliani, Trump\u2019s former personal attorney whose leadership of New York in the wake of the September 11, 2001, attacks earned him the nickname \u201cAmerica\u2019s mayor,\u201d has faced a slew of legal and financial troubles since the 2020 election.<\/p>\n He has pleaded not guilty to state criminal charges<\/a> against him related to the election subversion scheme in Arizona. Prosecutors dropped a similiar case against Giuliani and others in Georgia last year. The two former Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, also obtained<\/a> a $148 million defamation judgment against him for false allegations he made about them after the 2020 election.<\/p>\n Still, he has been receiving support from Trump, with the president appointing<\/a> him to an advisory council inside the Department of Homeland Security last June.<\/p>\n Giuliani was hospitalized in August<\/a> after he was injured in a car accident in New Hampshire, his head of security and the New Hampshire State Police said.
