STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Staten Island legend and world-famous rapper Method Man recently announced he was selling his long-time home<\/a> on the South Shore of Staten Island.<\/p>\n

The Wu-Tang Clan member said although he isn\u2019t moving off of Staten Island, he\u2019ll be moving from his Huguenot residence \u2014 which is currently listed for sale with Ozana Realty<\/a> at $1,248,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not actually leaving Staten Island,\u201d Method Man told Advance reporter Shane DiMaio. \u201cBut I am moving out of this home and it\u2019s going up on the market very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ozana Realty head broker Gal Ozana said he expects the home to be available for showings as soon as Monday, May 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very rare you see something like this,\u201d said Ozana. \u201cYou\u2019re talking about a Staten Island legend \u2014someone who helped put this borough on the map globally. Homes with that kind of story almost never come available.\u201d<\/p>\n

Method Man says he\u2019s still happy to call Staten Island home and appreciates the love he still receives from the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to be honored with our own district: the Wu-Tang District in my old stomping grounds, Park Hill,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The artist recently spoke with Advance\/SILive.com from his property to discuss the new listing, his roots on the borough and the recent announcement of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt puts us amongst the greats like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dr. Dre, Eminem and Jay-Z,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re going in with two other legends: Queen Latifah and MC Lyte \u2014 much deserved and well overdue.”<\/p>\n

As for Staten Island\u2019s reputation as the \u201cforgotten borough,\u201d Method Man says he believes \u201cwe represent New York just as much as the other four boroughs do.\u201d<\/p>\n
