LINDEN, NJ \u2014 A plane crashed while trying to take off at Linden Airport on Saturday, said Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Spokeswoman Cassandra Nolan. <\/p>\n
The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday at the airport at 1101 W. Edgar Rd. <\/p>\n
Linden Police said the Cessna 172S Skyhawk veered off the runway during takeoff.<\/p>\n
The pilot, who was the only person on board the plane, was treated on scene and taken to Newark University Hospital, said police.<\/p>\n
