Three people died and more than a dozen were injured after a massive fire tore through a six-floor walk-up in\u00a0Manhattan early Monday, officials said.<\/p>\n

Nearly 200 first responders rushed to the apartment building on Dyckman Street in Inwood at about 12:30 a.m. to find multiple terrified residents trying to flee via the fire escape.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fire was a very serious fire. It unfortunately resulted in many patients,\u201d Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore said.<\/p>\n

The fire broke out on the first floor before tearing through the building, impacting eight apartments, officials said.<\/p>\n
