It ended with officers fatally shooting the dog.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/attachment-krocam-social-square.jpg\" alt=\"KROC-AM logo\"\/>Trespassing Call at Brooklyn Center Gas Station Leads to Dog Attack, Fatal Shooting of Animal and Arrest of Wanted Man<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to the report of a man at the Speedway gas station on Brooklyn Blvd. with an unleashed dog.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police say the man initially cooperated but began resisting after officers learned he had two <a href=\"https:\/\/krocnews.com\/tags\/crime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">arrest warrants<\/a> and tried to take him into custody.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect tried to leave and blocked the officers using a skateboard and his dog.\u00a0Officers deployed multiple less than lethal options but could not subdue the suspect, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Officers Shoot &amp; Kill Dog That Attacked Them During Struggle<\/p>\n<p>The man\u2019s dog then attacked two officers during the struggle, police say.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The officers, in an effort to protect those at the scene, <a href=\"https:\/\/krocnews.com\/tags\/shooting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">discharged their weapons<\/a> striking the animal authorities say.<\/p>\n<p>The dog was transported to an emergency vet but was pronounced dead.\u00a0Police did not describe the breed of the dog.<\/p>\n<p>Injured Officers Expected to Recover<\/p>\n<p>Two of the officers suffered injuries, however they are expected to return to duty, Brooklyn Center police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was taken to a hospital before being booked into the Hennepin County Jail.
