So, congratulations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">New York Gov. Kathy Hochul introduced the Local Cops, Local Crimes legislation in January. The measure would limit partnerships between local police departments and Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the 287(g) program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou\u2019re gonna see collateral arrests increase in these areas. You\u2019ll see more agents in your neighborhood,\u201d Homan said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hochul fired back on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAll I\u2019ll say to Mr. Homan is that Donald Trump himself said he would not send a surge of ICE agents to the state of New York unless I ask,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not asking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hochul also said the state will continue working with ICE in cases of dangerous criminals.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWNY.
