The NYPD on Wednesday released images of four men wanted for defacing a Queens community with swastikas and antisemitic graffiti<\/a> during an overnight hate spree.<\/p>\n

The suspects are believed to be responsible for five acts of vandalism committed starting around 1 a.m. Monday on a one-mile stretch of Rego Park and Forest Hills.<\/p>\n

Locations hit by the vandals include Congregation Machane Chodosh<\/a> located on 108th St. near 67th Rd. in Rego Park and the Rego Park Jewish Center<\/a> on Queens Blvd. near 65th Road.<\/p>\n

Swastikas were also found spray-painted on the garage door of a private home, the window of another home and on the door of a gray sedan, all within six blocks of each other.<\/p>\n

Vandals also left the word \u201cHitler\u201d on one of the properties. During another act of vandalism, the suspects hurled an egg at a home, officials said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen a family woke up, they were prepared to begin an otherwise normal week. Instead, they were met with terrifying signals of hatred and threats of violence,\u201d City Council Speaker\u00a0Julie Menin posted on X<\/a>. \u201cWith antisemitism on the rise here and across the globe, we will always stand up for our Jewish community and fight back against hate.\u201d<\/p>\n

The vandals sprayed their hate messages with black and red spray paint. Cops are asking the public\u2019s help identifying them and tracking them down.<\/p>\n

Most of the victims didn\u2019t realize the vandalism had occurred until the next morning. But a 54-year-old woman was awoken by a noise outside her home near 67th Drive and 108th St. about 1:30 a.m. Monday. When she investigated, she discovered the vandals had spray painted a swastika on her window.<\/p>\n

At Congregation Machane Chodosh on 108th St. near 67th Road, vandals painted a swastika in black spray paint over a plaque honoring survivors of Kristallnacht, an antisemitic pogrom in 1938 Germany where more than 90 Jews were killed and businesses were destroyed by members of the Nazi party, officials said.<\/p>\n

Monday\u2019s vandalism came as the the NYPD released new stats showing that Jewish victims were targeted in 60% of all hate crimes citywide last month.<\/p>\n

Mayor Mamdani condemned the vandalism as a \u201cdeliberate act of antisemitic hatred\u201d in a post on X Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no place for antisemitism in Queens or anywhere in our city,\u201d Mamdani\u00a0wrote on social media<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cI stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors. Their safety, dignity, and belonging are non-negotiable.\u2028The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating and I am confident those responsible will be held accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n

The suspects are described as young light-skinned men. Three of the suspects wore hoodies.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s discovery of the antisemitic graffiti follows the arrest of two teenage vandals<\/a>\u00a0for desecrating a Brooklyn playground in a Jewish neighborhood with\u00a0more than 50 swastikas<\/a>\u00a0in January.<\/p>\n
