\n\tAlthough Victoria Beckham<\/a> has previously kept her feelings vague<\/a> on her feud with estranged son, Brooklyn Beckham<\/a>, she did appear to address the 27-year-old\u2019s claim that he was \u201ccontrolled\u201d by her and her husband, David Beckham<\/a>. And this time, she is not being subtle about it at all.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe former Spice Girl appeared on a May 5 episode of the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast<\/a>, where she opened up about parenting, seemingly alluding to the ongoing rift with Brooklyn<\/a>. \u201cI think that it\u2019s very different parenting adult children to parenting smaller children,\u201d Victoria said. \u201cI\u2019m just trying to do the best that I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd despite what anyone has said, Victoria claims that her and David don\u2019t pressure their kids, including sons Brooklyn, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 14. \u201cWe don\u2019t put any pressure on our kids, we just want them to do what they love and to work hard and to be happy.\u201d She later added, \u201cBeing very close is really, really important to us,\u201d which hints at how hard her and David are taking their fight with Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

\n\tVictoria also noted that she supports her son, Cruz\u2019s, new music venture, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s never about being pushy or forcing. It\u2019s being there to support.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThese statements are a direct contradiction to the way Brooklyn claimed his parents treated him in a January 19 Instagram story. He wrote in part, \u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe claimed that his parents \u201ccontrolled narratives\u201d about him and the whole Brooklyn family for his \u201centire life,\u201d adding, \u201cThe performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.\u201d Later, he clapped back at speculation that his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, was controlling. \u201cThe narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,\u201d he said. \u201cI have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. \u2026 [Now] I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in March, both Victoria and David wished their eldest son a happy birthday<\/a>. \u201cHappy Birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much \u2764\ufe0f,\u201d Victoria wrote in her post. David said, \u201c27 Today \ud83e\udd79 Happy Birthday Bust \ud83e\udd0d We love you x.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt does seem like they are trying to make amends (at least publicly), but so far, Brooklyn has not responded to their comments.<\/p>\n
