(Left to right) NYBC Marketing Manager Sarah Horn, Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation Program Officer Natalie Zagorski, Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation Head of Foundation and Community Engagement Jane Son,  NYBC Vice President of Operations Jeannie Mascolino and NYBC Director of Community and Stakeholder Relations  Yadira Navarro.<\/p>\n<p>Photo courtesy of the New York Blood Center<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The New York Blood Center (NYBC) recognized the <a href=\"https:\/\/amazinmetsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation<\/a> for providing a $150,000 grant towards the <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/2025\/12\/new-york-blood-center-queens\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">newly opened Queens Donor Center<\/a> on Thursday, April 30.<\/p>\n<p>The Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the New York Mets led by team co-owner Alex Cohen, awarded the grant to NYBC in 2024. The $150,000 was used to enhance donor equipment needed to collect red blood cells, platelets and plasma.<\/p>\n<p>NYBC held the special acknowledgment of the Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation at the Queens Donor Center, which opened in late 2025 at 107-10 Queens Blvd. in <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/forest-hills\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forest Hills<\/a>. Members of NYBC leadership and the Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation unveiled an honorary plaque there that represented the Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation\u2019s contribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNYBC is grateful to the Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation for its support of the New York Blood Center,\u201d NYBC Vice President of Blood Operations Jeannie Mascolino said. \u201cThe Amazin\u2019 Mets Foundation\u2019s generous grant to the Queens Donor Center has already made a lifesaving impact across the community, allowing us to strengthen the region\u2019s blood supply levels and serve our diverse community of patients and hospitals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Upon its opening at the end of 2025, the Queens Donor Center marked the sixth NYBC donor center in New York City. NYBC aims to make blood donation more convenient for Queens residents and to strengthen the local blood supply for hospitals across the region through the establishment of this permanent, welcoming, community-centered location.<\/p>\n<p>Donors can give blood every 56 days and platelets twice a month.
