Don\u2019t let them call it a \u201cprotest\u201d: It was a riot outside Park East Synagogue on Tuesday night<\/a>, as a hundred violent thugs with keffiyeh rags tied around their faces battled with the NYPD for hours.<\/p>\n

They claimed to be protesting a meeting to promote the sale of West Bank land to Jews; in reality it was purely about moving to Israel \u2014 with few brochures that had photos of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.<\/p>\n

Despicably, Mayor Zohran Mamdani let the goons know he\u2019s on their side: His spokesman said the mayor was \u201cdeeply opposed\u201d to the event<\/a> promoting the \u201csale of land\u201d in the West Bank, which is \u201cillegal under international law.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s two falsehoods, one about the event, and one about international law \u2014 which says nothing about private land sales anywhere.<\/p>\n

As best we can tell, Mamdani\u2019s confusing \u201cinternational law\u201d with the century-old ravings of Amin al-Husseini, the Hitler-allied Grand Mufti of Jerusalem<\/a> (appointed such by the British colonial overlords!), whose 1935 fatwa declared the entire mandate of Palestine to be the eternal and inalienable property of Islam.<\/p>\n

Yes, our mayor is that ignorant, or that phony.<\/p>\n

Fine, he waved a finger at the rioters while noting the importance of \u201censuring safe entry and exit\u201d from houses of worship<\/a>, but he also stressed the need to ensure \u201call protesters are able to exercise their First Amendment rights.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guess he\u2019s ignorant of US law as well as the international kind: The First Amendment does not, in fact, grant any right to fight police in the streets, let alone to assault a meeting because somebody told you it was about something you oppose.<\/p>\n

In any case, the antisemitic mob came prepared for war; what would it have done had it broken through the police line \u2014 disrupt the event? Beat up the attendees? Wreck the synagogue?<\/p>\n

By the way, the \u201cpro-Palestine\u201d rioters make no real distinction between the West Bank and Israel proper: The real chant, in the Arabic original, is \u201cFrom the river to the sea, Palestine will be Arab.\u201d <\/p>\n

That\u2019s also why they chant, \u201cWe don\u2019t want no two state, we want \u201948!\u201d Meaning, all of Palestine before the UN partition.<\/p>\n

With the left fully embracing this delusional cause, violent antisemitic attacks are on the rise in America (as the Anti-Defamation League reports<\/a>) and indeed around the world.<\/p>\n

New York City\u2019s mayor should warn the Hamas wing of his movement<\/a> that peaceful protest by definition can\u2019t include fighting the cops or threatening any physical aggression.<\/p>\n
