NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2013 An NYPD officer is facing consequences after being recorded in uniform, calling New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani \u201cnonsense,\u201d \u201can embarrassment,\u201d and \u201cnot his mayor.\u201d<\/p>\n
A short snippet of the officer was shared on Instagram Monday by the organization untilfreedom.<\/p>\n
Captain James Wilson of Brooklyn\u2019s 94th precinct was later identified by police officials as the man in the video who made the remarks about Mamdani.<\/p>\n

Multiple people can be heard reacting to Wilson\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n The video begins with Wilson saying, \u201cHe\u2019s temporary. He\u2019s expendable.\u201d A woman can be heard asking the Captain if he\u2019s talking about Mayor Mamdani, to which Wilson nods in agreement, saying, \u201cYeah, he\u2019s nonsense.\u201d<\/p>\n Another person can be heard saying that Madani is his boss, to which Wilson says, \u201cNot my boss. He\u2019s total nonsense. He\u2019s an embarrassment and total nonsense.\u201d The people, including the person filming, can be heard saying that his remarks are crazy and that Mamdani is the Mayor. Wilson then goes on to say, \u201cNot my mayor [referring to Mamdani], all Democrats are a waste of the human race.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cImagine individuals who are employed by the city and paid through our tax dollars saying the mayor is expendable and nonsense,\u201d wrote the organization on its Instagram page.\u00a0 \u201cOne thing is for sure, they wouldn\u2019t have that job for long. This appears to be the attitude of many of the NYPD, and if the leadership is saying this, what does that tell you?\u201d<\/p>\n Officials at NYPD said Wilson was transferred to the Communications Division within the 911 Call Center in the Bronx. NYPD officials also noted that his disciplinary process is ongoing.<\/p>\n \u201cI saw the video.
