A star-studded concert reading presentation of new musical\u00a0The\u00a0Hello\u00a0Girls\u00a0will be held May 8 at the\u00a0Jerome Robbins Theater at Baryshnikov Arts Center. Directed by\u00a0Cara Reichel, the musical features music and lyrics by Peter Mills, and a book by Mills and\u00a0Reichel.<\/p>\n
With a score blending jazz and big band swing,\u00a0the musical follows five fearless young women who cross an ocean to operate military switchboards on the front lines of WWI.\u00a0The musical had a successful run in September 2025 in the Archbold Theatre at Syracuse Stage in Syracuse, New York. <\/p>\n
The reading will be led by\u00a0led by Tony and Grammy nominee Gracie Lawrence<\/a> (All Out, Just in Time<\/a>) along with Jasmine Forsberg<\/a> (Here Lies Love<\/a>, SIX), Aubrey Matalon<\/a> (SIX), Gerianne P\u00e9rez, and Hailey Thomas. Lieutenant Riser is played by Vincent Michael<\/a> (Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York), and General Pershing is played by Graham Rowat<\/a> (Dear Evan Hansen<\/a>, Mamma Mia!<\/a>). The cast also includes Steven Huynh<\/a>, Andrew Mayer, Asher Muldoon, Ramone Nelson<\/a>, Regine Sophia<\/a>, Alyssa Stanford, and Kat Wolff.<\/p>\n The musical\u00a0will feature\u00a0orchestrations by Tony Award winner Bruce Coughlin<\/a>, Peter Mills, and Ben Moss<\/a>; music direction by Annbritt DuChateau; music supervision by Ben Moss; and an orchestra of 14 players.<\/p>\n
