Cops have arrested a 24-year-old man for a December double shooting in Queens that took the life of a father of two<\/a>, officials said Thursday.<\/p>\n

Bryant Figueroa was spotted by members of the NYPD\u2019s Quality of Life Division in Jackson Heights on Wednesday. The cops recognized him from a wanted poster of the suspect sought for the Dec. 11 killing of Oliver Nava<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Figueroa was brought to the 110th Precinct, where detectives charged him with murder and weapons possession.<\/p>\n

Nava, 27, and a second man were\u00a0outside a bodega on 108th St. near Waldron St. in Corona<\/a> around 8:35 p.m. when Figueroa opened fire, striking them both, cops said.<\/p>\n

Nava, who had two young children, was shot in the chest and died at\u00a0Jamaica Hospital.<\/a> The other man, 28, was shot in the leg and survived, but didn\u2019t immediately cooperate with the investigation, police said.<\/p>\n

Police said Nava had a criminal history with more than 30 arrests, including one for gun possession.<\/p>\n

This is Figueroa\u2019s first arrest in New York City, cops said. He lives in Elmhurst, about two miles from where Nava lived.<\/p>\n

The two men were acquaintances, but it wasn\u2019t immediately clear what sparked the shooting, a police source with knowledge of the case said.<\/p>\n
