For the second straight year Tottenville and Curtis will be heading to the PSAL 3A quarterfinals after both Island squads registered second-round victories Wednesday afternoon. However, New Dorp dropped its second-round test to top seed and defending champ Martin Luther King and was eliminated.

Island champ and 2024 city 3A runner-up Tottenville, seeded ninth, went on the road and took down No. 8 John Adams, 3-0, in Brooklyn. The Pirates will get a championship game rematch from a year ago in the quarters when they face MLK on Randall’s Island, Monday at 2:30 p.m. The Knights edged Alfonso Castaneda Diaz’s club 2-1 in the title game last season.

The Warriors, meanwhile, continued their late-season hot streak by shutting out upstart and 34th-seed John Jay (which stunned No. 2 Hunter in round 1), 3-0, in St. George. Curtis, now 6-0-1 in its last seven games will also seek revenge as it opposes Stuyvesant (a 4-1 upset winner over No. 7 Beach Channel) in the quarters. The Peglegs ousted Cadence Turner’s club 2-1 in penalty kicks in the same round last year.
