A lewd painting that hung over Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s desk inside his New York City townhouse<\/a> of horrors appeared to be briefly listed for sale on eBay \u2014 for a staggering sum.<\/p>\n

The 4-by-4-foot piece \u2014 a reproduction of Kees Van Dongen\u2019s \u201cFemme Fatale\u201d \u2014 was listed as \u201cJeffrey Epstein\u2019s Desk Art\u201d on the e-commerce site sometime in the last two weeks, priced at $25,000 or best offer.<\/p>\n

The circa 1905 artwork features a blue-skinned, resigned-looking woman baring one breast to the viewer. <\/p>\n

The eBay listing photo matched the painting and frame that hung above Epstein\u2019s desk inside his gaudy Upper East Side townhouse before his 2019 sex trafficking arrest and subsequent suicide.<\/p>\n

The eBay listing asked $25,000 or best offer for the painting, which it said was the same from Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou already know why you\u2019re here,\u201d the eBay listing read. \u201cThis is the giclee reproduction of Kees Van Dongen\u2019s Femme Fatale that hung above Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s desk at his Manhattan mansion. Not a rumor. Federal investigators photographed it. The NY Post wrote about it. Artnet covered it. Google it right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe original van Dongen sold at Christie\u2019s for $5.9 million<\/a> in 2004. This is not that. Epstein hung a fake and called it a day,\u201d it added. \u201cVery on brand.\u201d<\/p>\n

No authentication was provided to verify the painting was the very same that hung in Epstein\u2019s office \u2014 but the listing insisted it was the real deal, explaining it was acquired from a New Jersey auction, which flipped a number of the dead pedo\u2019s belongings last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Epstein estate sold it quietly through New Jersey auction house Millea Bros with zero mention of where it came from,\u201d the listing read. \u201cSomeone figured it out anyway. That someone is now selling it on eBay.\u201d<\/p>\n

The art is a reproduction of Kees Van Dongen\u2019s \u201cFemme Fatale,\u201d featuring a blue-skinned, resigned-looking woman baring a breast to the viewer. Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n

That auction netted at least $100,000 in sales<\/a> from the likes of Epstein\u2019s desk, a bookshelf that stored lotion in the vile massage room where he assaulted countless girls, and skin-crawling artwork like the bronze statue of a naked woman he dressed in a wedding dress and hung from a rope above his staircase.<\/p>\n

If the Epstein painting was authentic, the lister was looking to turn a massive profit off its infamous origins \u2014 as the pedophile\u2019s painting sold at the Jersey auction for just $275.<\/p>\n

The seller appeared to have been hoping for an even larger profit \u2014 with the original listing title asking $50,000 or best offer, compared to the current \u201cBuy it Now\u201d price of $25,000.<\/p>\n

One detail intended to bolster the painting\u2019s veracity was included, however.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe frame is an Eli Wilner. Same framers used by The White House. You\u2019re welcome,\u201d the seller wrote. \u201cMake it yours. Hang it above YOUR desk. Bold choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The seller \u2014 based in New York City \u2014 did not accept returns and was open to various delivery methods.<\/p>\n

The painting appeared to be the same from Epstein\u2019s collection, which was sold at a New Jersey auction last year. LiveAuctioneers<\/p>\n

But alas, their fortune was not to be. The listing was removed soon after The Post reached out to eBay for comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cUpon review, the listing was found to be in violation of eBay\u2019s policies and has been removed,\u201d an eBay spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

It remains unclear exactly which policy was violated, but eBay\u2019s terms of service bar people from selling \u201coffensive materials,\u201d including the likes of Nazi, Confederate and racist items, which \u201cpromote or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination\u201d are generally cited in its policy explanation.<\/p>\n

High-ticket art items are required to include a certificate of authenticity, according to eBay\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n
