{"id":225015,"date":"2026-05-08T20:21:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T20:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/225015\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T20:21:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T20:21:09","slug":"new-york-report-finds-incomes-not-keeping-pace-with-inflation-in-nearly-half-of-states-counties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/225015\/","title":{"rendered":"New York report finds incomes not keeping pace with inflation in nearly half of state&#8217;s counties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROCHESTER, N.Y. \u2014 A new report from the New York Comptroller\u2019s Office finds that even though New Yorkers\u2019 incomes have been rising, for many families, they have not been keeping pace with inflation.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, from 2019 to 2024, inflation increased 23.1%. In that same time period, the statewide inflation-adjusted median household income increased 2% by $1,688, the report says. <\/p>\n<p>But in 23 of the state\u2019s 62 counties, the inflation-adjusted median income actually decreased. That\u2019s what happened in Genesee, Wyoming and Steuben counties.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.osc.ny.gov\/reports\/median-income?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.osc.ny.gov\/reports\/median-income?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to see an interactive map.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All the other counties in our region saw increases.
