New York State Police started setting up early Friday morning in a slightly different location.Members of the dive team started looking for the gun in late March, after Keith Henry accepted a plea deal that included him showing police where he left the gun. Henry directed troopers to an area near Dock St., but Friday morning, police shifted their focus closer to the Plattsburgh boat launch.Police spent two days looking for the gun several weeks ago but paused their search effort until Thursday because of the ice in Lake Champlain that made it dangerous for divers.
