Netflix is regularly altering its content library, adding new series and movies while removing others. Even though it’s only early May, we’re already seeing reports and leaks regarding what content is coming to the platform next month.<\/p>\n
One of the shows coming to Netflix in June is The King of Queens, the CBS sitcom which kept audiences laughing from 1998-2007. All nine seasons and 207 episodes will be on Netflix for the first time–but only in specific territories, says What’s on Netflix’s Kasey Moore<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bad news for The King of Queens fans in America<\/p>\n According to Moore, The King of Queens is coming to “most international regions” of Netflix on June 4, but not the United States.<\/p>\n “As we\u2019ve frequently reported here at What\u2019s on Netflix, Sony Pictures Television (which owns the distribution rights to the show) has been increasingly open to licensing its vast library of classic sitcoms to Netflix for fixed, limited windows,” Moore writes.\u00a0“The King of Queens\u00a0is the latest beneficiary of this strategy, but you\u2019ll want to watch while you can, as the series is only licensed for a select period of time, although, for whatever reason, the United States won\u2019t be included.”<\/p>\n American viewers will have to make due watching reruns of the show on cable, or streaming it on Pluto, Peacock, Paramount+ or elsewhere.<\/p>\n Which territories will be getting The King of Queens?<\/p>\n English-speaking regions: Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n Europe: Multiple countries including France, Germany, Spain<\/a> and others.<\/p>\n Latin America: A “widespread rollout” including Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina.<\/p>\n There will also be a select rollout throughout Asia. This is the first time The King of Queens will ever be part of Netflix.<\/p>\n More to know<\/p>\n Created by Michael J. Weithorn and David Litt, The King of Queens debuted on CBS on Sept. 21, 1998. The show stars Kevin James<\/a> and Leah Remini as Doug and Carrie Heffernan, a married couple living in the Rego Park section of Queens.<\/p>\n Other stars include Jerry Stiller, Victor Williams, Patton Oswalt, Larry Romano, Nicole Sullivan, Gary Valentine and Merrin Dungey.
