CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Florida Baseball secured its eighth ASUN Conference series of the season with a run-rule win in Game 3 of its road weekend series at Queens, 12-1, at The Stick at Williams Dream Fields on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Junior outfielder Gialdri Gomez<\/a> had a dominant day at the plate for North Florida. Gomez went 3-4 with three RBI and one run.<\/p>\n Junior infielder Mitchell Collins<\/a> and redshirt sophomore outfielder Carter White<\/a> each added multi-hit performances.<\/p>\n Collins went 2-3 with two walks, two runs and one RBI. It marked Collins’ 16th multi-hit game this season.<\/p>\n White went 2-3 with three RBI, three runs, one home run and one walk. It marked White’s team-high 11th home run this season.<\/p>\n Sophomore right-handed pitcher Trevor Nikolis<\/a> delivered a solid start on the mound for the Ospreys. Nikolis dealt 5.0 innings and allowed just one run, three hits and one walk while notching one strikeout.\u00a0<\/p>\n Queens opened the scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning.\u00a0<\/p>\n Sophomore utility player Seth Alford<\/a> tied the game in the top of the second inning with a double to shallow left-center field.<\/p>\n North Florida broke the game open with an eight-run top of the fourth frame.<\/p>\n Collins got the scoring started in the fourth inning with a go-ahead RBI single to first base to give the Ospreys a 2-1 lead.<\/p>\n Gomez cleared the bases with a single down the right-field line to put North Florida ahead, 5-1. Junior infielder Mathew Farner<\/a> roped an RBI single down the left-field line later in the top of the fourth, allowing UNF to command a 6-1 edge.<\/p>\n White capped off North Florida’s eight-run fourth inning with a three-run homer to right field to give the Ospreys a 9-1 lead.\u00a0<\/p>\n Benjamin continued to break the game open with an RBI double to the right-center field gap in the top of the fifth inning to put North Florida ahead, 10-1.<\/p>\n Gomez notched his third RBI of the game with a deep sacrifice fly to right-center field, allowing UNF to command an 11-1 advantage.\u00a0<\/p>\n Hosey capped off a three-run fifth frame for the Ospreys with an RBI single to right field, bringing the score to its eventual final margin.<\/p>\n NORTH FLORIDA 12, QUEENS 1<\/p>\n Pitchers of Record Line Scores Statistical Leaders QUEENS UP NEXT
