The Issue: Mayor Mamdani\u2019s support for the protesters at the riot outside Park East Synagogue.<\/p>\n

Your article on the anti-Israeli mob attacking police officers at Park East Synagogue is both scary and a sign of things to come in New York (\u201cZoh \u2665\u200a Synagogue Riots,\u201d<\/a> Editorial, May 7).<\/p>\n

Mayor Mamdani said nothing about how openly anti-semitic young Democrats \u2014 who support Hamas and hate Israel \u2014 caused a riot.<\/p>\n

It amazes me that New Yorkers voted for this. But I\u2019ve known many Holocaust survivors, who all warned me this could happen again.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear from the Siena University poll that, while Gov. Hochul wants more taxes and spending, two-thirds of New York voters are saying that\u2019s the wrong direction (\u201cKathy, you\u2019re cru$hing us!\u201d<\/a> May 6).<\/p>\n

Big deal: They elected her. And because they\u2019re blind to the link between Democrats and a punishing cost of living, they\u2019ll re-elect her anyway.<\/p>\n

Gov. Hochul\u2019s slogan, \u201cMore Money in Your Pocket\u201d suggests that the path to prosperity is through government action. Where did that faux largesse come from?<\/p>\n

When Democrats talk about \u201caffordability,\u201dthey place the blame on the private sector and those horrible old rich people, including and especially the president, but they leave out the government.<\/p>\n

On top of federal and state taxes, Social Security taxes and, for homeowners, property taxes, we pay sales taxes, excise taxes and hidden taxes due to regulation, not to mention the costs businesses pass on to the consumer to cover the taxes they pay as the cost of doing business.<\/p>\n

The bottom line: The cost of government is, for most people, the biggest single element of our cost of living.<\/p>\n

We the people are tired of being robbed.<\/p>\n
