NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal fire in the Bronx that left three people dead<\/a>, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Daniel Santana, of the Bronx, was taken into custody at 9:13 p.m. Monday, according to the NYPD.<\/p>\n

He is charged with three counts of murder and arson, police said.<\/p>\n

The Mott Haven fire broke out last Wednesday morning in a mixed\u2011use building that included a grocery store on the first floor. Officials said the flames spread quickly to the apartments above.<\/p>\n

The bodies were found on different days during separate firefighter operations, according to officials.<\/p>\n

The first victim was discovered on the day the fire broke out.<\/a> Firefighters found a second, unidentified person on Thursday. A third victim<\/a> was located Friday during a controlled demolition of the building.<\/p>\n

The identities of the victims have not been released.<\/p>\n

No further information was immediately available.<\/p>\n
