{"id":229598,"date":"2026-05-13T04:52:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T04:52:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/229598\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T04:52:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T04:52:24","slug":"brooklyn-man-sentenced-for-fatal-bushwick-hit-run-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/229598\/","title":{"rendered":"Brooklyn man sentenced for fatal Bushwick hit-run crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/brooklyneagle.com\/section\/courts-and-law\/daily-bulletin\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1766528467_380_Daily-Bulletin-Logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"91\"\/><\/a>BUSHWICK \u2014 Brooklyn man was sentenced to prison for causing a 2024 fatal hit-and-run crash in Bushwick that killed a 29-year-old man and seriously injured three others before fleeing the scene on foot.<\/p>\n<p>According to the evidence, on Jan. 8, 2024, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Christopher Seabrook, 29, of Brooklyn, was speeding in a Kia Sportage southbound on Irving Avenue in Bushwick when he crashed into a Toyota Yaris traveling through the intersection at Stockholm Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The force of the impact spun the Toyota into multiple parked vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The crash killed 29-year-old Hayden Wallace, who was riding in the right rear passenger seat of the Toyota, seriously injuring the vehicle\u2019s three other occupants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The surviving victims suffered numerous severe injuries, including fractured ribs, fractured clavicles, internal injuries, and organ damage that required surgeries and lengthy hospital stays.<\/p>\n<p>After the crash, Seabrook exited the Kia and fled the scene on foot before police and emergency responders arrived. Video surveillance later tracked the defendant walking to a nearby smoke shop after the collision. He was arrested in February 2025 following an investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Seabrook was sentenced Monday by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice John Hecht to up to six years in prison.
