The club, which is one of the oldest and most renowned clubs in all of Brooklyn, will begin the morning with a buffet breakfast, followed by a 90-minute member meeting, which will include a treasury report, membership update and goals and objectives for the new season.<\/p>\n<p>Afterward, flags will be raised in an outside ceremony for each flag officer \u2014 commodore, vice commodore, rear commodore and fleet captain. Joseph Martino, public relations and marketing for Miramar, stressed that he is trying to get as many people in Brooklyn and in the tri-state area to be exposed to the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a strong social media presence,\u201d Martino said. \u201cThe goal is to get people in here and have them check the place out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miramar was founded in 1932 when an ardent group of young men founded what they called the Miramar Boat and Canoe Club on the north shore of Sheepshead Bay. In 1944, Miramar was incorporated and reorganized as a cooperative yacht club, taking the name Miramar Yacht Club.
