{"id":230830,"date":"2026-05-14T01:13:21","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T01:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/230830\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T01:13:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T01:13:21","slug":"80-degree-weather-coming-to-nyc-area-this-weekend-followed-by-fairly-hot-temps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/230830\/","title":{"rendered":"80-degree weather coming to NYC area this weekend, followed by \u2018fairly hot\u2019 temps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-block-key=\"kcfh2\">Could it finally be time for New Yorkers to put away their jackets for the season?<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"bkqmf\">Not just yet \u2014 but there&#8217;s looking to be a taste of summer very soon, according to local weather forecasters.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"524nr\">New York Metro Weather, which is run by meteorologist John Homenuk, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/nymetrowx\/status\/2054382056541757585?s=20\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said on social media<\/a> that \u201ca significant warmup is heading for NYC starting this weekend, and it could continue into next week as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"3jfqg\">The National Weather Service&#8217;s James Connolly concurred, noting that Saturday&#8217;s temperatures will be in the 80s.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"jnu3\">\u201cAs we get into the weekend, right now we&#8217;ve got highs around 80 for Saturday, and then as we start looking into the next week, it could get fairly hot,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"4habj\">But residents will have to deal with cooler climes before then.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"admej\">Wednesday is expected to remain partly cloudy, with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s, Connolly said.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"auih4\">Then, on Thursday, a front will bring cooler temperatures in the 60s, showers and possible thunderstorms, according to NWS.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"alc7b\">The region will start warming up again on Friday, with highs in the upper 60s, Connolly said.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"58rnj\">They\u2019ll rise into the 80s over the weekend and stay on the hotter side through next week, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Could it finally be time for New Yorkers to put away their jackets for the season?
