The Panthers lost both games despite starting its top two pitchers Daxton Minton (3-2, 3.32 ERA) and Jaxon Wondra (6-3, 2.78 ERA).<\/p>\n
Manhattan won the opener 8-2. Great Bend (15-10) is projected to play Emporia (10-12) in next week’s Andover 5A baseball regional.<\/p>\n

Panther reliever Rafael Chavez walked two batters in the seventh. Ribordy walked Cale Hewins for a 5-5 tie and hit Zach Conley with a pitch for the game-winning run.<\/p>\n
Ribordy, Jaxon Wondra and Trenton Kern delivered first-inning runs batted home for a 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Panther right fielder Christian Alcala saved a run when he threw Hewins out to preserve a 3-3 tie.<\/p>\n
Ribordy scored on Trenton Kern’s fifth-inning single, but the Indians tied it 4-4 on Greyson Wassenberg’s sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n
Minton tripled and scored on Daxton Wondra’s seventh-inning double for 5-4 lead.<\/p>\n
MANHATTAN 8, PANTHERS 2 (G2) \u2014 Manhattan tagged Minton for a season-high six earned runs with six hits.<\/p>\n
Carter Dreiling singled home Kale Kern and Minton scored on Trenton Kern’s single for the Panthers’ runs.<\/p>\n
