{"id":231272,"date":"2026-05-14T12:30:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T12:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/231272\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T12:30:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T12:30:09","slug":"carteret-law-enforcement-joins-nationwide-click-it-or-ticket-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/231272\/","title":{"rendered":"Carteret Law Enforcement Joins Nationwide \u201cClick it or Ticket\u201d Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rlsmedia.com\/nj\/carteret\" class=\"tag-location mb-1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carteret<\/a><\/p>\n<p>By: Najla Alexander\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carteret officials announced that borough law enforcement officers will join with police from around the country in cracking down on unbuckled motorists and passengers as part of the national \u201cClick it or Ticket\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Running May 18 to 31, the annual national mobilization utilizes high-visibility seat belt checkpoints and saturation patrols, in combination with local and national publicity efforts, to reiterate the life-saving value of seat belts, according to Carteret officials.<\/p>\n<p>        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/IMG_4835_42.jpeg\" data-entity-uuid=\"fb9855f4-c0b5-402f-be8c-7235fe50edca\" data-entity-type=\"file\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Carteret officials say more than 100 law enforcement agencies throughout the state shared $600,000 in Click It or Ticket 2026 Seat Belt mobilization grants from the state Attorney General\u2019s Office to initiate the campaign. Carteret received $7,000 to fund its participation, according to the police department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeat belts are the single most effective tool drivers and passengers can use to protect themselves in a crash,\u201d Police Chief Ted Nycz added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis campaign aims to increase seat belt compliance and encourages all occupants of vehicles to reduce the risk of injury or death by buckling up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/IMG_5191.png\" data-entity-uuid=\"e6a624eb-9c62-49b2-90ec-1c3065e16ff8\" data-entity-type=\"file\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"800\"\/><\/p>\n<p>According to the state Division of Highway Traffic Safety, 11,712 fatal New Jersey crashes have resulted in 12,464 fatalities and 7,903 injuries since 2006.
