So, I had to change a couple of pairings leading up to the championship match.”

The Lady Titans (12-11) ran the table once again this year in the CIF bracket with a 5-0 first-round win over No. 14 Oceanside (3-16), a 5-0 quarterfinal win over No. 11 Sage Creek (6-12) and 3-2 win over No. 2 San Dieguito Academy (11-11) in the semifinals to reach the championship match against the Lady Pilots (16-8).

The championship game victory avenged a 4-1 non-league loss to OLP on April 22.

Key players this year included first team all-league selections Presley Ruperto, Kaycee Papa, Ari Ruperto and Noelle Barcas and second team picks Alyssandra Macias and Brooke Hidalgo.

The Metro Conference is divided into three leagues for girls beach volleyball: the Metro-Mesa League, Metro-South Bay League and Metro-Pacific League.

This year’s Metro-Mesa League lineup included Eastlake, Helix, Olympian, Bonita Vista and Otay Ranch. Helix (13-8) won the league title with an 8-0 record, followed by Eastlake at 6 6-2.

Helix received the No. 10 seed in the Division I playoffs. The Lady Highlanders upset No. 7 Mission Hills (8-11) in the opening round before ending their season with a 5-0 loss at No. 2 San Marcos (19-4), the eventual division champion.

The 2026 Metro-South Bay League included Hilltop, Mar Vista, Montgomery and Steele Canyon.

Steele Canyon (15-4) won the league title with a 6-0 record and advanced as far as the Division II semifinals against OLP, dropping a 3-2 match. The Lady Cougars previously defeated No. 13 Pacific Ridge, 5-0, in the opening round and No. 5 Mira Mesa, 3-2, in the quarterfinals.

This year’s Metro-Pacific League lineup featured Sweetwater, Castle Park, San Ysidro, Chula Vista and Southwest.

Sweetwater (6-7) won the league title with a 6-2 record but lost a Division II play-in round match to Olympian, which promptly ended its season with a 5-0 loss to the No. 1 Lady Pilots in the first round.

Otay Ranch received the No. 9 seed in the Division II playoffs but lost to No. 8 Francis Parker in the opening round.

Boys Volleyball Finals pairings set

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
From the sand to the indoor hard court, the San Diego Section finals have been set for this weekend’s boys volleyball championship games.

Thursday, May 14
Division V-AA
(1) Escondido Adventist Academy vs. (2) Bayfront Charter, 5 p.m. at Logan Memorial
Semifinals: (1) Escondido Adventist Academy defeated (5) Bonsall, 3-0; (2) Bayfront Charter defeated (3) Army-Navcy Academy, 3-1

Division IV
(1) Tri-City Christian vs. (3) Christian, 7:30 p.m. at Logan Memorial
Semifinals: (1) Tri-City Chriatian defeated (4) Oceanside, 3-1, (3) Christian defeated (2) San Ysidro 3-0

Friday, May 15
Division I
(1) Canyon Crst Academy vs. (6) Eastlake, 5 p.m. at Hillsion HIlls High School
Semifinals: (1) Canyon Crest Academy defeated (4) Del Norte; (6) Eastlake defeated (2) Westview, 3-2

Open Division
(1) Bishop’s vs. (2) Torrey Pines, 7:30 p.m. at Mission Hills High School
Semifinals: (1) Bishop’s defeated (4) la Costa Canyon, 3-0; (2) Torrey Pines defeated (3) Francis Parker, 3-0

Saturday, May 16
Division V
(1) Del Lago Academy-(4) Pt.
