{"id":233281,"date":"2026-05-15T23:09:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T23:09:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/233281\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T23:09:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T23:09:15","slug":"tj-maxx-to-open-new-store-on-staten-island-this-month-will-close-other-location","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/233281\/","title":{"rendered":"TJ Maxx to open new store on Staten Island this month; will close other location"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6ENH27V6NJEJZIY7YT24ZM275I\">STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 TJ Maxx, the popular off-price retailer known for selling brand-name and designer merchandise at significant discounts, will open a new store this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"XBC6PAH3ERGFRCTUK7PL5JZLFU\">It will take over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/business\/2026\/01\/popular-off-price-retailer-coming-to-staten-island-mall-later-this-year.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/business\/2026\/01\/popular-off-price-retailer-coming-to-staten-island-mall-later-this-year.html\">free-standing space on Staten Island Mall property in New Springville<\/a>, which formerly housed the Container Store.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"XOH7NJ2NHJBW3HOMB3IKVAKLXE\">It is a relocation of the TJ Maxx at 2530 Hylan Blvd., which is expected to close by Monday, May 24.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"S6UEKYACORDO5B2SSX4I3OKU4M\">TJ Maxx will open the new location at 283 Platinum Ave., on Thursday, May 28, starting at 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2YHJZM2ECNFVFDMXY44S6RCKZY\">Its regular hours after the grand opening will be 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VXSSP477EZF4DF6ZZWPREY4L24\">\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be in the Staten Island community,\u201d said Nancy Carpenter, president of TJ Maxx. \u201cWe look forward to providing local shoppers with an ever-changing selection of high-quality merchandise at exceptional value so they can express their true \u2018maxx\u2019 selves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"DD6JO66VXNHXZNM7OBO4UHNLGY\">The approximately 24,075 square foot store will have an easy-to-shop layout, bright and spacious dressing rooms and a single line queue for faster checkout, according to TJ Maxx.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"RB54ISM4QZFABFXAMJCWHA7QWY\">Shoppers will be able to find thousands of top brands and designers from around the world at discounted prices. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"JIWRH6FDNVDLFDE2ECYR55NS3Q\">To celebrate this new Staten Island location, TJ Maxx will contribute to the local community by donating $10,000 to <a href=\"https:\/\/seamenssociety.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"Original URL:https:\/\/seamenssociety.org\/Click to follow link.\">Seamen\u2019s Society for Children &amp; Families<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"P6S36H56IJBPZHGNZFS7LLVHV4\">The new store will also join all other stores nationwide in sponsoring Save the Children\u2019s U.S. Programs through TJ Maxx\u2019s annual in-store fundraising campaign, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AKRMTMFW6RAZXPICOLAXBHUDPU\">Founded in 1977, TJ Maxx offers a range of apparel, home goods, beauty, and accessories. The brand has operated on Staten Island for decades, and currently maintains three locations in the borough: New Dorp, Port Richmond and Charleston.
