Cops are looking for the suspect, who allegedly shoved a child face-first onto the floor of a Flushing playground right in front of the young victim\u2019s mother. <\/p>\n

Police from the 109th Precinct<\/a> in Flushing<\/a> are looking for an unhinged woman who allegedly assaulted a child right in front of his mother in a playground in broad daylight on Monday, May 11. <\/p>\n

Police say the 7-year-old boy and his mom were in Maple Playground at the intersection of Kissena Boulevard and Maple Avenue at 5:15 p.m. when the suspect approached the youngster and pushed him face-first into the ground. An NYPD spokesperson could not say what precipitated the assault, or if it was a random attack or if the boy was targeted. <\/p>\n

The mother told investigators that the woman just pushed her son to the playground floor before fleeing the playground in an unknown direction. Her child sustained a laceration to his face and scratches to his face and hands, but medical attention was refused at the scene, police said.<\/p>\n

The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect and described her as having a light complexion with a heavy build and long brown hair. She wore a brown softball jersey with white stripes, mom jeans, eyeglasses and what appears to be an orange wristband on her left arm.<\/p>\n

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to her arrest and indictment.\n<\/p>\n
