STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 All the KPop Demon Hunters, many M3GANs, likely Labubus and assorted Art the Clowns, are going to want to bundle up and hold onto their candy bags tightly this Halloween, as gusty winds are expected to follow Wednesday\u2019s flooding rains<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The rain that soaked the borough Wednesday should be ending by Halloween, according to National Weather Service<\/a> meteorologist Rich Otto.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe good news is that all the rain that you guys had gotten earlier today and maybe a little bit more this evening should be coming to an end,\u201d Otto said. \u201cBut it\u2019s going to remain windy.\u201d <\/p>\n

Halloween will feature \u201cmostly dry\u201d conditions with \u201csome sun and clouds,\u201d he said. High temperatures will reach the mid-50s before dropping to the mid-40s overnight.<\/p>\n

Wind will be the main weather factor for Friday\u2019s festivities, with sustained speeds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts reaching 40 to 45 mph.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou definitely want to hold on to that candy because it\u2019s going to be windy,\u201d Otto advised.<\/p>\n

The challenging weather stems from a combination of systems affecting the region. Otto explained that a \u201cstrong coastal low that\u2019s partially related to Hurricane Melissa out in the Atlantic\u201d combined with \u201ca strong upper-level system moving through the northeastern U.S.\u201d is creating a deepening area of low pressure.<\/p>\n

This weather pattern is developing \u201ca tight pressure gradient\u201d that\u2019s generating the gusty conditions, according to Otto.<\/p>\n

The Halloween forecast comes after parts of Staten Island experienced significant flooding Wednesday, with several vehicles becoming stuck in high water. <\/p>\n

While a \u201cquick round\u201d of rain could still pass through Wednesday evening, Otto noted that \u201cthe heaviest rain looks like it\u2019s over with.\u201d<\/p>\n
