Actor Andrew Rannells shared a selfie of the group, which included Emily Ratajkowski and Lena Dunham.<\/p>\n

Dunham celebrates her 40th birthday today and has been friends with Swift for over 10 years.<\/p>\n

Taylor Swift dined<\/a> at Via Carota in New York City last night\u2014and a mutual friend just revealed exactly who she broke bread with. The singer attended a dinner with Lena Dunham, who celebrates her 40th birthday today, and three other stars.<\/p>\n

Actor Andrew Rannells shared a selfie Dunham took with the group, which included him and Dunham; model Emily Ratajkowski; her boyfriend, French filmmaker Romain Gavras<\/a>; and Swift.<\/p>\n

The \u201cOpalite\u201d<\/a> singer wore a white Retrof\u00eate minidress\u2014the same one paparazzi snapped her in as she and longtime friend Ashley Avignone<\/a> arrived at the West Village hot spot.<\/p>\n

Swift and Dunham have been friends for over a decade\u2014the pair was first photographed together at the 2013 Grammys:<\/p>\n

In Dunham\u2019s recently released memoir Famesick<\/a>, she gave Swift a shout-out and shed rare light on their bond now. \u201cTayTay\u2014you sing the songs I wrote this book to, the stories that pulled these stories out of me, the music that makes the whole world feel seen,\u201d she wrote, via People<\/a>. \u201cAnd yet somehow, miraculously, you also pick up every desperate call at every desperate hour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dunham described Swift as \u201cone of my best friends in the world,\u201d in an interview with the outlet, adding, \u201cShe\u2019s also my favorite music. My favorite musicians are my husband [Luis Felber] and Taylor Swift.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ratajkowski and Swift have a little less documented history, but Swift commented<\/a> on an October 2022 TikTok of the model lip-syncing to her song \u201cKarma.\u201d The singer wrote, \u201cStanding ovation for this.\u201d<\/p>\n

A year later, on a July 2023 episode of her High Low podcast<\/a>, Ratajkowski spoke to guest Troye Sivan about becoming a Swiftie, saying that in the past, she didn\u2019t listen to much pop music.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I was dating someone, actually, and they were talking about, just because something\u2019s popular doesn\u2019t mean that it isn\u2019t excellent,\u201d she recalled. \u201cActually, a lot of the times, the things that are popular are actually just incredibly good.\u201d<\/p>\n

She wound up thoroughly enjoying listening to Swift. \u201cTaylor Swift is a great example for me,\u201d she said. \u201cI know you know her, and I\u2019ve performed with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was not a Swiftie and now I\u2019m like, you know what that means?\u201d she asked. \u201cThat means I was a misogynist that I didn\u2019t fuck with Taylor Swift because I went to her concert and I was like, \u2018This person is an incredible songwriter, an incredible performer,\u2019 and anybody who says anything else, they have issues and actually maybe not a very sophisticated palette, which is a pretty crazy thing. I know a lot of people would like\u2014their jaws would drop, but I do think that\u2019s true. If you don\u2019t like Taylor Swift, then you don\u2019t understand things.\u201d<\/p>\n
