A brief moment at a Bruce Springsteen concert has ignited a social media firestorm after a video surfaced appearing to show the rock legend brushing past former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie without acknowledgment.

The incident occurred Thursday evening at a Brooklyn concert, where Springsteen, 76, was moving through the crowd during his performance.

Springsteen turned away, continuing through the crowd without making contact.

Whether the snub was intentional remains disputed, but the footage spread rapidly across social media platforms, drawing reactions.

“HAHAHA Bruce Springsteen WAS NOT HAVING IT with Chris Christie. THE SNUB!” one X user wrote alongside the circulating clip.

“That’s awkward. You could feel the tension through the screen on that one,” one commenter wrote.

A third user described it as “Peak awkward rock moment. Cue my chaos playlist.”

Even those who hold no affection for the former Republican presidential candidate acknowledged a little sympathy.

“Not (a) Christie fan. But I almost feel bad for him,” one X user admitted.

Not everyone interpreted the scene as a deliberate rebuke, however.

Several observers noted that Springsteen appeared to be bypassing the entire crowd, not singling out the former governor.

“Bruce isn’t shaking hands or interacting with any of them. He’s walking, somewhat quickly, focused on the song,” one viewer noted.

Another pointed out, “Several people had their hand out. He ignored all of them.”
