The Old Timers Reunion was created in 1983 by World\u2019s Oldest Rodeo legend Danny Freeman to honor and recognize former champions and royalty during one performance of the rodeo. Old Timers were defined as cowboys who competed at the Prescott rodeo in the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. The first year it was limited to those who lived in Yavapai County or close by in Wickenburg or New River. Eleven came and enjoyed themselves and spread the word around, five years later twenty-six showed in 1987. In 1988 the invitation was opened to the world if they participated in the Prescott rodeo with an original cutoff date of 1950. The list started from known contestants to over a hundred names; the current requirements are the contestants must have participated in the Prescott rodeo forty years or more in the past.\n<\/p>\n
