It required less than two hours of deliberation today for a jury in Oakland, Calif., to reject Elon Musk\u2019s $150 billion lawsuit against OpenAI and its chief executive, Sam Altman.<\/p>\n
Musk, who co-founded OpenAI with Altman as a nonprofit in 2015, had accused the artificial intelligence giant of \u201cstealing a charity\u201d by putting commercial gain over the public good. But the nine-member jury found that Musk had failed to file his lawsuit within a time frame required by law<\/a>, and the judge accepted the decision. Musk\u2019s lawyer said he would appeal.<\/p>\n The case was closely watched because it had the potential to upend the A.I. landscape.
