The Denmark\u2019s royal family has shared new major update on Queen Margrethe health following her angioplasty procedure after being admitted to hospital last week for chest pain.<\/p>\n

The palace released statement to uprise the fans about the Queen\u2019s health.<\/p>\n

It said, \u201cQueen Margrethe has been discharged from Rigshospitalet today & is returning to Fredensborg Palace.\u201d<\/p>\n

It further said, \u201cQueen Margrethe also wishes to thank you for the many kind thoughts & greetings that have been sent to Her Majesty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier, the court had said the queen had “a balloon dilation of a coronary artery” at Copenhagen\u00b4s main hospital Rigshospitalet, where she was admitted last Thursday.<\/p>\n

Margrethe, who abdicated in 2024 and turned 86 on April 16, attended Sweden\u00b4s King Carl XVI Gustaf\u00b4s 80th birthday in early May.<\/p>\n

The former sovereign reigned in the Scandinavian country for 52 years before passing the throne to her eldest son Frederik in January 2024.<\/p>\n

Hugely popular among Danes for subtly modernising the monarchy, Margrethe has faced multiple health problems in recent years.<\/p>\n

She had long vowed that she would never abdicate, but major back surgery in 2023 led her to change her mind.<\/p>\n

Margrethe is known for her significant interest in the arts.<\/p>\n
