A pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn Park on Tuesday morning, according to police.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to the crash scene near the intersection of Highway 252 and 73rd Avenue North at about 1:23 a.m. where they found the victim and several car parts scattered nearby.<\/p>\n
Police say that the driver who hit the pedestrian left the scene.<\/p>\n
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a dark gray Toyota RAV4 was heading southbound on Highway 252 when it struck the pedestrian between Brookdale Dr. and 73rd\u00a0Ave. N.<\/p>\n
MSP officials say the SUV has damage to several spots on the car: Front passenger side bumper, a missing passenger side mirror, a missing fog lamp on the passenger side and a damaged passenger side door rain guard.<\/p>\n
The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the investigation.<\/p>\n
