{"id":237180,"date":"2026-05-19T20:17:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T20:17:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/237180\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T20:17:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T20:17:39","slug":"news-12-bronx-man-charged-with-murder-in-2025-shooting-inside-williamsbridge-deli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/237180\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | Man Charged With Murder In 2025 Shooting Inside Williamsbridge Deli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">A man is facing a murder charge in connection with a fatal shooting inside a deli in Williamsbridge.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Marlon Smith, 22, of Co-op City, was arrested Monday, over a year after he allegedly killed 20-year-old Sorai King inside the deli located at 3724 Bronxwood Ave.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Authorities say King was shot in the neck and chest just after 1:30 p.m. on April 17, 2025.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\"><a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/nypd-20-year-old-man-fatally-shot-at-williamsbridge-deli\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Surveillance video<\/a> obtained by News 12 shows paramedics wheeling King out of the deli on a stretcher. He died at NYC Health and Hospitals\/Jacobi.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The footage also shows the gunman running from the store after the shooting. He is seen turning back and reentering the deli before taking off a second time.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\"><a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/2025\/04\/19\/family-of-williamsbridge-man-fatally-shot-searches-for-answers-says-victim-never-had-problem-with-anyone\/4D6T4Nw8Yy35zRWsIl7tiD\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">News 12 spoke with King&#8217;s family<\/a> in the months following his death. They said King walked just one block to the deli to grab groceries when he was attacked.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">\u201cWe want justice for my nephew. He was only 20 years old.
