BAYONNE, New Jersey (WABC) — An investigation is underway after a 2-month-old baby died in Bayonne, New Jersey.<\/p>\n
Details surrounding the infant’s death are limited, but eyewitnesses say police found him while responding to a noise complaint.<\/p>\n
What happened behind the sealed and bolted door is still a mystery, but the 2-month-old was rushed to the hospital and died the next day.<\/p>\n
A next-door neighbor says he never heard anything unusual and after returning from a long hospital stay discovered the couple next door faced eviction.<\/p>\n
“Well, surprised that the whole crazy thing happened, you know, when I was here last year…I never thought anything like that would happen,” the neighbor said.<\/p>\n
Authorities have been there several times talking to neighbors. The infant’s death is being called a murder, but the cause of death is unknown.<\/p>\n
The manager of the historic and well-manicured building said he called the police on the couple living in the apartment now on lockdown.<\/p>\n
“They were here for about a month, but they were always arguing and arguing until I couldn’t take it anymore and I had to call cops,” he said.<\/p>\n
His son, who is the superintendent, said the couple living in apartment 107 raised lots of suspicion because of domestic abuse and the sound of a baby crying often.<\/p>\n
“Guy looks, you know, calm, quiet… I don’t know him personally,” the super said. “She was like the aggressor.”<\/p>\n
