A BELOVED restaurant with stunning views of New York City has permanently closed to make way for a new steakhouse.<\/p>\n

The closure comes amid nation-wide struggles with the cost of living<\/a> and restaurants facing steep operating costs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A longstanding waterfront restaurant in Weehawken, New Jersey<\/a> closed its doors permanently on Friday, May 15.<\/p>\n

The Chart House, known for its stunning view of the New York City<\/a> skyline, was one of Hudson County\u2019s top special occasion dining choices, according to Hoboken Girl<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to it\u2019s location on Lincoln Harbor directly across from Manhattan, the Chart House was known for its seafood dishes, prime rib, and happy hour, making it a great destination for celebratory dinners<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, the Weehawken location has been removed from the Chart House website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite the closure<\/a>, Weehawken will not lose out on the upscale steakhouse market.<\/p>\n

The iconic Lincoln Harbor space will be renovated and reopen <\/a>next year as Mastro\u2019s Steakhouse, according to Patch News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to be bringing the Mastro\u2019s experience to Weehawken!\u201d the Mastro\u2019s chain said in an announcement. <\/p>\n

\u201cGet ready to indulge in USDA Prime steaks, premium seafood and raw bar offerings, a spectacular seafood display, creative sushi, and decadent desserts, including the iconic warm Butter Cake.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mastro\u2019s Steakhouse was started in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1999 with an emphasis on both exceptional food and ambiance, according to the restaurant\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the time of publication, there are 26 Mastro\u2019s Steakhouse locations across the US.<\/p>\n

Restaurant regulars reacted to the news<\/a> online, with many sharing what occasions they would celebrate at Chart House.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe chart house was our Easter dinner location \/ we were told this Easter by the server that they were closing,\u201d one diner wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know! My daughter told me yesterday! That was my mother\u2019s day<\/a> and birthday spot for 20+ years!\u201d lamented another.<\/p>\n

\u201cOmg we frequented the chart house I still have plenty of pictures and personalized menus from special occasions!!!\u201d chimed in yet another.<\/p>\n

Chart House and Mastro\u2019s Steakhouse are operated by the same parent company, Landry\u2019s, Inc.<\/p>\n

Landry\u2019s, Inc. owns other well-known restaurants<\/a> including Rainforest Cafe, Saltgrass Steakhouse, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.<\/p>\n
