Former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander (D) is leading incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman (N.Y.) in the Democratic primary for New York\u2019s 10th District by more than 20 points, according to a new survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the Emerson College Polling\/PIX 11 poll, 56.6 percent of respondents said they would back Lander while 23.1 percent said they support Goldman and 20.3 percent were undecided.<\/p>\n

Lander launched his bid to challenge Goldman late last year, shortly after losing the party primary for the New York City mayoral race.<\/p>\n

Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), who won that race, has backed Lander\u2019s bid for Congress<\/a>, saying in a post on the social platform X in February that the former comptroller \u201chas spent his career taking on big fights for New York\u2019s working families.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve spent my life organizing my neighbors to win big fights \u2014 stopping evictions, building new housing, desegregating our schools, protecting immigrants from ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement],\u201d Lander wrote in the caption for his announcement video.<\/p>\n

\u201cI recognize this moment, and I\u2019m ready to meet it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Lander\u2019s announcement, Goldman declined to comment on the former comptroller\u2019s decision to challenge him in the Democratic primary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not really thinking about this right now. I\u2019m in Washington, really focused on making sure that health care will not be taken away from millions of people,\u201d Goldman said during an appearance on PIX11\u2019s \u201cPolitics Daily.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Emerson College\/PIX 11 poll took place May 16-17, featuring 450 likely Democratic primary voters and had a margin of error of 4.6 percentage points<\/a>.<\/p>\n
