{"id":24221,"date":"2025-10-31T15:59:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T15:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/24221\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T15:59:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T15:59:06","slug":"teen-victim-tied-to-washington-square-park-drug-bust-idd-as-recent-grad-who-moved-to-nyc-to-start-new-life-internship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/24221\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen victim tied to Washington Square Park drug bust ID\u2019d as recent grad who moved to NYC to start new life, internship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the people who fatally overdosed on <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/11\/02\/news\/hidden-fentanyl-mills-make-deadly-pills-in-nyc-apartments\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fentanyl<\/a> sold by a crew of dealers busted in Washington Square Park Thursday was a Colorado teenager who had come to the Big Apple last year to start an internship with a non-profit and help on a Broadway theater production, according to sources and her family.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey Shaw, 18, was one of the two people who died in just a six-month stretch last year after buying drugs from the crew, which calls itself WSP Enterprise, sources told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>The tragic teen was a \u201crising star\u201d Aspen transplant who was set to start an internship with the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/02\/13\/metro\/broadway-cares-charity-group-ripped-for-channeling-400k-of-donations-to-gaza\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">non-profit, Broadway Cares<\/a>, when she took the fatal drugs in June 2024, Shaw\u2019s family told the Aspen Daily News at the time.<\/p>\n<p>NYPD officers in Washington Square Park on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
