Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs has officially checked into FCI Fort Dix, the same NJ prison that once housed Martin Shkreli, after what one ex-inmate describes as a turbulent stint at MDC Brooklyn<\/p>\n
Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs on Thursday arrived at the federal prison in New Jersey to begin serving his 50-month sentence for federal prostitution-and-transportation convictions, according to prison records and law-enforcement sources.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Combs requested the move to Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix (FCI Fort Dix) so he could participate in its Residential Drug Abuse Program and be closer to family. The low-security facility, located on a military base about 40 miles from Philadelphia, has held high-profile inmates including \u201cPharma Bro\u201d Martin Shkreli, former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and heroin-trafficker George Jung.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He disputed press reports that Combs faced a shank attack in his cell when he woke up. The altercation was actually \u201cover a chair\u201d during a TV session (Diddy was reportedly watching \u201cBasketball Wives\u201d) and was defused by Combs and Castillo.<\/p>\n Inside MDC, Combs reportedly ran a weekly two-hour class called \u201cFree Game with Diddy,\u201d teaching business, faith and personal growth. The program brought Black, Latino and white inmates, including members of rival gangs, into the same classroom for the first time, the ex-inmate said.\u00a0<\/p>\n As he settles into Fort Dix, Combs faces an estimated release date of May 8, 2028, crediting good-conduct time and time already served in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n
