When they arrived, witnesses informed them that moments earlier, a 29-year-old man had been shot in the chest.<\/p>\n<p>The wounded victim had been brought via private means to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he died there a short time later. Police have not yet released the man\u2019s identity, pending family notification.<\/p>\n<p>So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.\n<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). All calls and messages are kept confidential.<\/p>\n<p>Through May 17, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/assets\/nypd\/downloads\/pdf\/crime_statistics\/cs-en-us-043pct.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">43rd Precinct had reported just one homicide year-to-date<\/a>, down from four at the same point last year.
